Flambe

It has been long since I have visited this small cozy place. Although I have been here twice, I don't have a reason as to why I have to go or not go next time. Confusing? Yeah, That is how I'm feeling currently. It is 5 in the morning without sleep watching movies all the way and multitasking this post.

I like the chess print cushion here. Flambe is a small place which can accomodate not more than 60 people at the same time. It is a place where you can hang out for a getogether, sit-chat and celebrate. I did none of these, but kept checking my watch as I had a call both times post lunch.

Food- Nothing great. In fact, tastes very meagre. The Jaljeera is a speciality here as they proclaim, but for me it tasted like plain water which had hajmola tablets dissolved in it. Booh!!
The food again wasn't anything to yap about.

Ambience - Small place, when it's rains heavily, they close the place with the jute curtains around which turn the interiors dark.

For me only gajar halwa and jamoon were slurpous.

Barbeque Nations review

(Barbeque Nations, Jayanagar, Bangalore)

OMG, where do I start from? BN or Barbeque Nations is something I frequent as equally as I do a parlor. Thanks to whosoever chose my office in the location it currently is in. Every dutch or client visit ends up with a lunch/dinner at Barbeque depending on what time the client would wish to spare time with offshore counterparts interacting here, doing the major part of coding and testing and contradictorily paid.

I have paid visit both the Barbeque Nations in Koramangala and Jayanagar. The above picture is of Jayanagar location. I personally feel although the service and food quality at both places are same, the ambience is Jayanagar is more enthraling. Morover below Barbeque Nations is a Spa and parlor. Post treating your stomach, you can nourish your skin too :).

BN is this famous for the conceptual luncheon or dine they provide, placing the barbeque holders on each table. Although price is above average compared to other buffet providing restaurants, its worth it!(500+tax, prices vary on weekdays, weekends,lunch, dinner, veg and non-veg, too complicated huh!?!?) Plus is, you can hard grill your pieces of veggies or chicken or fish or prawns any of what you ordered to your table and not the neighbour's table, yourself after marinating them.  Beware you may burn your fingers! Just kidding! (Not as long as you are sitting there after having a sleep walk). The serving process is never ending, untill you pull down the metallic flag placed over the table.

Food - Starters and desserts are the attraction here and only way via which you can make a complete paisa vasool. Deserts include rare cuisines like Phirni(a less sweetened moist sweet in a pot).

If you are here on any of your vegetarian days, you might only end-up gaping at others. Yes, there is 1 dish that I personally swoon in veg- Potato fry! Yummm......

Ambience - They have both closed and terrace. I chose to go terrace only for dinners to expose myself to chill air and cosy candle lit dinners. If you chose terrace during noons , be ready to get yourself barbequed by the hot air filtered by the fiber roof sheets.

My favourite - Barbeque Nation special pista bread. Some may like, some may not. I do neither but love it! I don't mind stealing it from neighbour's plate after finishing mine.

King size prawns , I can hog around 2 dozens. Now close your mouth! If you have not opened, stop counting how much 2 dozens end up to.

Pacific blue, a litchy flavoured mocktail with a cherry dropped in for show. Its upto you if you can manage to get the cherry out of glass without looking absurd.

Best part is the Birthday celebrations they make here, by vocally singing the 'Happy Birthday' song and dancing around the table of the birthday baby. A cake can also be ordered last minute as a surprise gift to your friend, yes ofcourse not your enemy.

Lunch @ Dug out!

One thing, err.... only thing good about Corporate life other then having earn mega bucks, which equally compensates for the stress, dark circles and hairfall is 'Team lunch'. Staying close to an area like Koramangala which houses all big names of restaurants and cool crowd is an added advantage. One cool and effective way of periodically venting out the collective stress piled, here periodically , I refer to Fridays :) . Even the spell of this angelic word would bring a smile from one ear to another. Bliss of all we corporate employees. Offf... I think this is enough of my rants about office.

Mid-Friday of the month, did it start without much expectations except the fact that it was Friday and the next day was Saturday (One good thing about following my blog is you would learn new things like this, that Saturday comes after Friday).

Since it was a sudden enlightment for me that we would be off to 'Dug out' for an Onsite-return(Office tradition where in people returned from onsite making some extra money would blow it up partially giving a treat, no matter the size of the team) treat, I wasn't prepared in a way a woman  would want to.

About the place - Dug-out is a place restaurant(both closed and roof-top) and bar. I usually prefer the roof top with chill air, especially the candle-lit dinner.

 

Food - Buffet is what I have always opted for, till date. Palak chat is my favourite. They have barbeque dishes too.

Ambience - I'd rate it 'Too good', for the large pebble studded ambience with the buoyance force created on walls and the entry.
